Half and Half, Thirds or Quarters Courtesy of ~ Lorr Hay
A good beginner’s course game gets everyone mixing and no one gets knocked out.
Divide the target into 2, 3 or 4 everyone gets their own section.
Shoot 3 arrows, 4 ends, hit your section you get the points, hit someone else and they get the points.
Vary target size depending on archers abilities use either 5 or 10 zone scoring, gets beginners used to score value of different colours.
Depending on archer’s abilities you can also give bonus points for getting 2 or 3 arrows in the same colour

Higher LowerCourtesy of ~ Laura Quantrill
Pair or group up archers, get the first person to shoot an arrow, the next person must call whether they are going to shoot a higher value or a lower value than the previous person’s arrow. If they successfully shoot what they choose they gain a point.

If unsuccessful they lose the point to their opponent. The person with the most points wins. Obviously play will continue from the previous arrow shot if that makes sense.

I used this over at camp and the kids loved it ages ranged from 6-16. Variations can be added like forfeits etc.

Hobbit QuestCourtesy of ~ Will Baverstock
Team game with the first to get arrows from white to gold and back again. The colours have to be shot in order. The team cannot move past the misty mountains (White) until they have a scoring arrow in the white and so on…

With the accompanying story:
Over the white Misty Mountains, escaping from the goblins
Through the black Mirkwood forest, avoiding the spiders
Escaping from orcs over the blue Long Lake
Sneak past Smaug, the red dragon
Steal the gold
And back again……

You can big the story up as much as you like with this and if gets the group involved.
