FAQ’s –
These are some of the questions that we have been asked in the past –
Do we need to bring our own equipment?
No – we supply all of the equipment that is required for the course. You only need to bring yourself.
Where will we be training?
The training is carried out indoors. The weather is never our friend in the
UK so we will use our indoor facilities for the training.
Can we have the coursework before we arrive?
Unfortunately no. The coursework will be available on the first evening/morning of the course. You have to have started the course to receive the coursework material.
Is there any Pre course work?
No, you do not need to complete any pre-course work. No previous archery knowledge is required, though it may be an advantage.
What is covered on an Archery Instructor Award?
You will be taught how to take a basic have a go/taster archery session. Selecting equipment, Setting up a range, adaptation.
What is the difference between the “old” leaders course and the “new” Instructor award?
The new course is run over two days rather than the previous 4-day course. Also, the new course only teaches “point of aim” shooting and does not
include “sighted” shooting. There is no maintenance of equipment taught on the Instructor award.
How long does the Instructor Award last?
The qualification lasts for three years. At which point it will need to be
renewed. Details about the renewal can be found here.
