Jessica Nilsson

Jess2How did you get involved in your sport?

I first started shooting back in 2010, when I was 13 years old. My mum had shot for a brief while when she was younger and still had her old bow. She found a local archery club when we were still living in Stockholm and we attended the beginner’s course in 2010, since then we have been hooked.

What bow style do I shoot?

Currently I am shooting both barebow and recurve, but internationally I compete with barebow whilst recurve I shoot at a national level.

How often do I shoot?

It varies every week depending on work load and other events. Ideally I would shoot 5-6 times per week, but I can’t always get to the range. Probably on average I shoot 4 times per week and go to the gym twice per week.

What are your short/long-term goals?

My more immediate shortterm goals are to qualify for and potentially win the World Games next year in Poland 2017. I am also aiming to win medals at the senior 3D European Championships and World Field Championships later this year. Ultimately in the long term I would like to qualify for the Olympics.

What are your biggest achievements?

I hold several Swedish National records both as a junior and a senior. I also hold multiple junior and senior national titles.
