SCAS Pathway Alignment Junior Academy North Central

SCAS Pathway Alignment Junior Academy North Central  scheme has  been set up a junior archery pathway, for recurve archers.  This will not be county restrictive.  We are looking to offer a channel for all junior archers to receive a structured planned training on top of any program current being run in your club.  We are following Archery GB training guide lines with the National Talent Development Programme.

SCAS will be looking out for any junior that shows potential, and any found will be fed through the current channels to make sure they can reach their full potential. Information about Talent ID days can be made available.

The sessions will be run at Aim4sport's Training centre,  from 9.30am for a 10am start run to 12pm.

Following 2018 dates are:- Saturdays

2018 Dates (subject to change with any ArcheryGB Junior events like the Talent ID day and Talent Festival)

6th January, 3rd February, 3rd March, 7th April, 5th May, 2nd June, 30th June (Date moved from July due to Jnr Nationals), 4th Aug, 1st Sept, 13th Oct, 10th Nov, 15th Dec.

Following 2019 dates are:- Saturdays

2019 Dates (subject to change with any ArcheryGB Junior events like the Talent ID day and Talent Festival)

5th January, 2nd February, 2nd March, 6th April, 4th May, 1st June, 29th June

The sessions will cost each archer a flat rate of £10.  This will not only cover the training session, it will allow the junior archer to shoot at aim4sport for the rest of the day free of charge.

We will be setting a technical, equipment, mental training & physical program.  Max distance shot will be 30 metres.  (Reason for the distance limit is based around the coaching that will be taking place).

I have invited a range of coaches from  5 local counties to assist in the training sessions, and will be working on a ratio of 4 archers per coach to maximise the opportunities for the archer.    The level of coach that will be attending ranges from Senior to level 2 and we will be looking to bring the best out of the archers. There is also an opportunity for new coaches to come along for coach education - Please ask.

I would be grateful if you can pass this information through to all of the juniors parents and ask them to contact us at aim4sport if they feel that their son or daughter would want to be part of this exciting new venture.

For more information please call Gaynor Hutchison on 01767 699 991 or email performance@hertsarchery.org.uk

All juniors are welcome.
